| Mellerud is the first 'big' village in our surrounding. A lovely place at about 15 min. by car. You will find all kind of stores here. Mellerud is situated next to the big Vänern-lake with a nice sandy beach, ' the Riviera of Sweden'. Enjoy the rich and peaceful sand and the slowly descending water in wich little children can play without danger. No crowds and lots of space! You may fish in thelake without a permit and canoes are available |
| In Håverud (appr. 20 min. away) you'll find a spectacular aquaduct. A 'bridge' for boats wich has been build with 30.000 rivets. This aquaduct is directly connected to the famous locs of Håverud . A difference of 10 meters in height is to be bridged in 4 stages! Controls are mainly manuel and it is spectacular to see the little boats going up and coming down. Within minutes the waterlevel changes by the tons of water that flow. Don't forget your camera! |
